Liebe alle,
wie viele von euch durch diverse Emailfluten, Gratiskugelschreiber, Flyer und Plakate schon mitbekommen haben, finden vom 16.-18. Mai ÖH-Wahlen statt. Dabei könnt ihr auf Bundes- und Universitätsebene nicht nur die Gruppen wählen, von denen ihr all diese schönen Geschenke bekommt, sondern in einer Personenwahl auch die Studienrichtungsvertretung der Internationalen Entwicklung, also eures Studiums.
Die Hard-Facts vorweg:
– Die Wahl für die Studienrichtungsvertretung ist eine Personenwahl, bei der ihr fünf verschiedene Namen ankreuzen könnt, die Reihenfolge ist dabei egal.
– Neben dem Stimmzettel für die Wahl der Studienrichtungsvertretung bekommt ihr noch einen für die Universitätsvertretung und einen für die Busndesvertretung
– Unser Wahllokal für die Internationale Entwicklung ist im C2 (Hörsaalzentrum) am Universitätscampus, Hof 2 (Studierendenausweis nicht vergessen!)
– Die Öffnungszeiten des Wahllkoals sind:
Dienstag 10:00-18:00
Mittwoch 10:00-20:00
Donnerstag 09:00-15:00
Trotzdem wir uns als basisdemokratische Gruppe verstehen, in der sich alle gleichberechtigt einbringen können und sollen, ist es eine formelle Notwendigkeit die Positionen der Studienvertretung zu besetzen. Deshalb haben wir uns als Basisgruppe und Studienvertretung Internationale Entwicklung im Vorfeld der Nominierungen zu offenen Gesprächen getroffen und einen Konsens gefunden, welche fünf Kandidat*innen wir aufstellen möchten. Wie ihr euch vielleicht erinnert, ging es dabei darum, dass mit der Position des/der Studienvertreter*in gewisse Priviligien aber auch Pflichten verbunden sind. Wir haben uns also überlegt, wie diese Aspekte am sinnvollsten verteilt werden können.
Da nicht alle der fünf Kandidat*innen für die kompletten zwei kommenden Jahre in Wien sein werden, haben wir uns entschlossen zusätzlich zu den fünf Kandidat*innen noch zwei weitere Personen auf die Liste zu schreiben. Diese können dann unter Umständen nachrücken, sodass wir zum einen handlungsfähig bleiben und zum anderen Hierarchien abbauen können.
Wir haben also folgende FÜNF Kandidat*innen aufgestellt:
Listenplatz 1: Beck Lukas
Listenplatz 2: Coeler Constantin
Listenplatz 3: Etzel Ronja
Listenplatz 4: Fahrwald Dorothea
Listenplatz 6: Lubi Christian
Auf dem Wahlzettel werden auf Platz 5 und 7 dann zwei weitere Namen auftauchen, welche wir als potentielle Nachrücker*innen bestimmt haben. Bitte wählt aber einfach die oben genannten fünf Personen mit euren fünf Stimmen. Die Reihenfolge ist nur alphabetisch und hat darüber hinaus keine Bedeutung.
Auf Bundes- und Universitätsebene gibt es eine Listenwahl, bei der ihr die Fraktionen wählen könnt, welche euch in den höheren Gremien vertreten sollen.

Dear All,
as many of you might already have noticed by the flood of e-mails, goodie giveaways, flyers and campaign posters, the elections for the Austrian Student’s Union (ÖH) are coming up, and will take place between May 16th and 18th.
But not only can you vote for one of the parties blessing you with all those nice presents at the federal (Bundesvertretung) and university (Universitätsvertretung) level. In addition, the students‘ representatives for Internationale Entwicklung, your curriculum, are also elected.
First, the facts:
– The students‘ representatives elections are an election of individuals, not groups or parties.
– Beside the ballot paper for the students‘ representatives, you will get two additional ballot papers, for the university representatives and the federal representatives.
– The polling station for Internationale Entwicklung is at Campus in lecture hall C2, courtyard 2 (Don’t forget to bring your student ID!)
– Voting is open on
Tuesday from 10am to 6pm
Wednesday from 10am to 8pm
Thursday from 9am to 3pm
Despite being organised at a grass root level, at which everybody can and should have the chance to participate, it is a legal necessity to fulfil the official capacity as students‘ representatives, and thus put candidates up for election. To that end, we had invited to an open meeting in the run-up to the election, and reached a consensus on which five candidates we want to put on the ballot. You might recall that there are some privileges and obligations connected with this position, and so we tried to find a way to distribute those in a sensible manner.
Because not all five candidates are going to be in Vienna for the whole two years of their term, we also decided to nominate two additional candidates. If the need arises, these two will thus be able to take their place if one of the others steps down. This means that not only are we guaranteed to remain operational, it also offers an additional chance to diminish hierarchical structures.
So we put up the following five candidates:
Position 1: Beck Lukas
Position 2: Coeler Constantin
Position 3: Etzel Ronja
Position 4: Fahrwald Dorothea
Position 6: Lubi Christian
On the ballot, positions 5 and 7 are the two additional substitutes. Please vote for the five people listed above. The order of the names is alphabetical and has no further implication.
